Gameplay Gameplay Medieval 2: Total War takes place across the lands of the Middle Ages. It has over 20 playable nations from the third century (when the Romes started collapsing) up to the late medieval period. Each nation has its own unique gameplay, as well as being able to support any other nation once they have been converted. The English are known for their naval prowess and early attempts to colonize, while the Dutch and the Germans excel at rapidly expanding their armies. The expansion pack for Medieval 2: Total War was released on March 2, 2006, it included six new nations to play: The Polish Commonwealth, Burgundy, Denmark, Norway, Navarre and Ireland. There are two main types of gameplay in Medieval 2: Total War: Permanent Campaigns and Time-limited Campaigns. Permanent Campaigns allow the player to play a game of conquest, with the aim of building up a great number of armies and capturing as many towns as possible. The game ends when you are defeated or when the invasion goes too far and you are no longer able to capture any towns. However, there is no set goal or time limit for winning this style of game, so it can last several years. There is also a conquest style game mode in Medieval 2: Total War, in which you take control of a dynasty, and hold territory. You can build your infrastructure, and recruiting additional soldiers, cavalry, and infantry. You can also train your officers and have them lead specific units. There are two ways of attacking an enemy nation. Either you can go for a head-on attack, with all your troops marching on a village. Or you can spread your troops out and surround a city. If the attack is successful, your troops will occupy and occupy land until a peace is made or the opponent surrenders. As part of Medieval 2: Total War, you have the option of taking part in the following events and campaigns: England vs France (from the 9th to 13th centuries AD) The Ottoman Empire vs Byzantium (from the 14th to 17th centuries AD) The Holy Roman Empire vs Italy (from the late 15th to early 17th centuries AD) Rhodes vs Venice (from the 19th to 21st centuries AD) The Polish Commonwealth vs Sweden (from the 18th to 19th centuries AD) Navarre vs France (from the 17th to 18th centuries AD) There are three difficulty settings for players 92b4bcdea8
