Glasshouse Dance - Time Machine Disco (Westlegate)
Head Out Not Home takes place at a number of sites around the city centre over the summer months. It is commissioned (and funded) by Norwich BID and programmed and run by NORCA & Sistema in Norwich.
The event has grown from three sites in 2013 to five currently, offering a mixture of music, street theatre and other entertainment. NORCA & Sistema in Norwich took over running the festival after its inaugural year, in 2014, and has run it for the last 7 years. Since then we have programmed 210 acts including established local bands, such as The Vagaband, Alden Paterson and Dashwood, Samia Malik, Georgia Shackleton Trio, Kilamonjambo, the Thinking Men, Lovin' Handful, Impilo and much more.
Head Out Not Home was cancelled in 2020, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but we hope to return in 2021. News on next year's festival is expected soon.
The sites are currently:
Gentleman's Walk (opposite Lloyds bank)
St Gregory's Green, and either
Cathedral Close or Riverside
Since 2017, we have given our Platform stage over to young and up-and-coming acts, working in partnership with Norwich Arts Centre Sonic Youths, Access to Music, Young Norfolk Arts Festival and Norwich School.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us run Head Out Not Home, so please get in touch if you are interested. Similarly, if you are band interested in performing, then please get in touch.
