Music Services

We have a strong track record of delivering a range of music and music education.  We offer a fresh approach that builds on the rigour of conventional teaching but with an energetic and up to date style, creating exciting and engaging music provision, across instruments, general musicianship and music technology.

Key areas include:

  • Curriculum Music Delivery - provision that meets the national curriculum requirement with an innovative and exciting approach. This can take a number of formats from a single, dedicated music tutor to a several instrument focussed tutors, delivering a series of modules of activity through the year to provide a rich and engaging programme, and drawing on our Digital Creatives methodology.

  • Whole Class Instrumental Teaching - instrument focussed delivery, offering a range of instruments, including Digital, Ukelele, Samba drumming, African drumming, Percussion and Singing.

  • Digital Creatives - our approach that uses iPad and music technology-based work, along with the concept of the digital instrument, to address the music education and computing curriculum.

  • Opera - working with children to write and perform their own opera or music theatre show from scratch.

  • Early years music

  • After school provision - a range of activities, including Rock School, Music Technology, Choir, Samba drumming, Orchestra, Wind Band and Songwriting.  This can be delivered as short courses (6 to 10 weeks), in one or more terms, or across a year.

  • INSET and training - sessions for teachers and tutors, including team building through music.

Carnival Arts Services

NORCA's experience in carnival arts means we can offer an exciting package of carnival related activities for schools, carnivals and community organisations.

Activities are delivered by experienced tutors and partner organisations:

  • One-off workshops or days in a range of activities including music, costume, dance, performance, etc.  These can be delivered in short sessions across a number of classes or more extensive time with fewer children.

  • Coordinated days of carnival activity that combine a range of activities across a whole school or part of a school, for example a day we have previously delivered a Brazilan focused day combining Samba drumming, dance, costume making and Capoeira.

  • Longer term projects to work with a group or organisation on a carnival entry, skills development, etc.

  • Artistic and Musical Direction for carnival events.
