NORCA & Sistema in Norwich is recruiting to fill two vacancies on their Board of Trustees, to help shape our vision to change people’s lives through arts participation and engagement, and to support the charity's growth and development. Please note that Trustees are unpaid roles.
A new Chair of Trustees, to provide leadership for the charity and its board, and
A Trustee with a financial background, to better inform our financial decision-making.
We are particularly keen to recruit trustees who are from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, or identify as disabled, so that we have a Board that accurately reflects our whole community.
NORCA & Sistema in Norwich is a successful community arts charity based in Norwich. The charity was set up in 2001 with the aim of getting more people involved in the arts and bringing about social impact through arts participation and engagement. Although the charity has a broad portfolio of work, its main programmes are currently:
Sistema in Norwich; - offering young people from challenging backgrounds the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument and take part in an orchestra, with wider social impact goals around confidence, aspiration and achievement.
Curriculum music; - providing a range of music services to meet school curriculum and other music needs.
Carnival development; - working with local schools and community groups to develop carnival entries and leading the way in developing the artform.
Head Out Not Home; - running a 10-week outdoor music and street theatre festival in Norwich city centre, on behalf of Norwich BID.
The Board currently consists of four very active Trustees, with a range of experience. The Board is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing the organisations aims, objectives, and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.
