On this page we will post any jobs that we are recruiting for.
Even if we do not currently have any positions available, work does come up, and we are keen to develop a pool of tutors that we can draw on who understand our work and can potentially be available for one or two sessions per week.
If you would be interested in finding out more about what we do and going onto our approved tutor list, then please send an up to date CV to Al Watts, Sistema in Norwich Programme Manager HERE. Al will arrange to meet with you to discuss seeing our work, any work we have available and opportunities to get you involved.
Orchestral Instrument Tutors - Cambridge
Sistema in Norwich is a programme that inspires excellence and cooperation among children and young people though learning to play an instrument and taking part in an orchestra, focussed on those with less opportunity. Instruments are taught in groups and we would normally get them working in an ensemble early in the process (though we cannot do that at the moment due to Covid).
We are hoping to be able to start in November (with everything a bit delayed by the Coronavirus situation) and initially it will just be one school, Bewick Bridge Primary. We are, however, hoping to add another site in January (which would offer two more sessions each week).
The teaching is on
Tuesdays from 1 to 3pm and
Wednesdays from 3 to 5.30pm
(1.5 hour sessions within each of those time blocks, breaking down into 45 minute lessons).
We are looking for teachers to cover:
- Brass (trumpet and trombone, but could discuss)
- Wind (clarinet and flute)
- General music (an active session that includes core skills, theory and singing)
If you are interested, please email us HERE.
